Pozezdrze - Himmler’s field headquarters

One of the most intriguing attractions of Pozezdrze is the former field headquarters of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, known under the codename "Hochwald" (High Forest). Hidden in dense forests, it is a unique example of military architecture from World War II. The bunkers, shelters, and concrete foundations that have been preserved to this day were part of a larger command support complex of the Third Reich in Masuria. Although the site is not as well known as the Wolf's Lair, its history and atmosphere leave a strong impression - especially against the backdrop of wild Masurian nature.

Visiting this place is a journey to the past, allowing a glimpse of the daily functioning of one of the most important figures of the Nazi regime. The area is open to the public, and access to the ruins is easy – a comfortable path through the forest leads to them. On-site, visitors can admire the remnants of bunkers and technical facilities.
